Dr. Cashio Plastic Surgery
Meet Doctor Cashio

Dr. Cashio determined that medicine was his true calling during his freshman year at Louisiana State University. An academic scholarship allowed him to complete a double major in biochemistry and microbiology, as well as his medical degree. On his first visit to the operating room, he knew that he had found his calling. With his personality, it’s a great fit.

Dr. Cashio left his roots in Louisiana after medical school to complete his residency in general surgery at the University of Florida at Jacksonville. Cosmetic surgery piqued his interest because he found it challenging—even the most minute change can make all the difference.

Next, Dr. Cashio successfully completed a fellowship in Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. While there, he performed more than 1,300 procedures. He also realized the enormous responsibility and honor placed upon him as a plastic surgeon.

After his fellowship, a teacher and mentor from the University of Florida at Jacksonville encouraged Dr. Cashio to return to the coastal, Northern Florida area. He is thrilled to be practicing his profession in Palm Coast, the fastest growing community in Flagler County.

Choosing Your Surgeon

Any individual can claim to be a doctor, cosmetic surgeon or plastic surgeon. As a patient, it should be your first priority to check a physician’s credentials. A doctor’s training and certification should be appropriate to the planned procedure.

Richard Cashio, MD, is Board Certified from The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). Already a Board Certified General Surgeon, obtaining this additional certification was a very stringent process, nearly two years in the making.

As of 2006, a total of 5,177 plastic surgeons in practice nationally were board certified by ABPS.
